I still sew, you know! - Sie näht doch, noch!

I had an unexpected couple of hours on hand and decided that a fast knit top was the way to go. I sewed up some stash fabric from years ago. The pattern is from Ottobre Woman 2/2009; actually a frankenpattern of shirt no. 5 (bodice) and dress no. 14 (flutter sleeves, a bit hard to see in my photos).

Since this went well (and fast!) I made it up again in another stash fabric, without sleeves and without a back facing, I just used a self-binding. I also scooped out the armscye a bit on the arm/shoulder side; I could have made it a bit smaller on the bottom, maybe next time.

Do I need a sway back adjustment? Muss ich für Hohlkreuz ändern?

What do you sew when there isn't enough time in the day?

Was näht Ihr, wenn wenig Zeit ist?

  1. So pretty! I love seeing how one pattern looks so different. I enjoy going to my regular tee pattern that fits really great and coming up with new embellishments and necklines. :-)

  2. I love your tops! They both look very pretty on you. When there's not much time in the day, I am try to do one small sewing task, even if that means only pressing a seam open! Eventually, the top that I'm making will be done; it is just taking a long time.

  7. Those are super tops--both of them. I like the print top styled with the skirt and jacket. Very chic!

  10. Very cute! And using up stash fabric is always a victory. I have no time to sew lately and am trying to make myself just do 10 minutes of a task. I hate doing it that way but at least I move the ball forward a tiny bit.
