You know I love to do this, and this year DS (9 yo) is determined to be a part of the process.
I usually make up costumes without a pattern, and I start with a sketch (previous costume sketches here and here). So, when DS said he wants to be (Saint-Exupéry's) Little Prince, I asked him to sketch the costume. Here it is:
I've been working on the coat and DS has been crafting boot shafts from black felt. Stay tuned for more!

Fortsetzung folgt!
interesting. I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to get in the process too, but she's still only 18 months old. I will make her a cupid costume this year.
ReplyDeleteHe did a great job showing the details he wants on the jacket. Can't wait to see the finished outfit!
ReplyDeleteThe inspiration pictures look fabulous! It reminds me of Quentin Blake illustrations.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how this turns out!
ReplyDeleteI love the sketch! This is going to be a knockout.
ReplyDeleteWow, this is going to be so fantastic!! I love his sketch, and that he is making the boots himself.
